Comments: Isn’t Jed just adorable? He came in to us from a downstate animal control where he was found as a stray so not much is known about his background. Jed is very sweet and won’t stop wagging his tail when he sees his humans. Or any humans. Or dogs. He is just a happy boy overall.

Jed does have one silly trait that we are working on. He does not like to go for walks, really, or be attached to the leash by his collar. See picture of him flopping on the ground to see what he does when he feels pressure on his collar. We are not sure if this is because he never had a collar on before or never learned to leash walk or if someone used a heavy hand with his leash and collar, but he does not really like it. We are working with him on this and he has gotten much much better-he went from flopping on the ground the moment he felt pressure and biting at the leash to now being walked for some distance before realizing he is tethered and flopping down in a dramatic fit. But he can be coaxed out of it now as well and gets up pretty easily from his little huddle.

But we’ll want a home that will use a harness for walking with him and one that has a fenced yard tall enough (5’ or higher) to contain him on his own without having to use a tie out.  We’ll want someone who has patience to help him work through this, with an obedience class as well.  But he’ll come around.  He already has gained so much confidence and progress in the short time he has been with us.  And his overwhelmingly nice personality will move him forward quickly too.

I want to apply to adopt a dog!
