leland leland leland leland

Name: Leland
Sex: Male
Color: Black & White
Eye Color: Blue
Age: 1 yr.
I.D. Number: 1468
Approx Weight: 52 lb.
Good w/dogs: Yes
Good w/cats: NO!
Crate Trained: Rode well in car
Housebroken: Unknown
Energy Level: VERY HIGH!!!!
Good w/Kids: Older children...because he has had virtually no training would not be good with toddlers or children under 8 yrs.
Training: NONE! A formal obedience program is a requirement for adoption!!!!!
Comments: Leland is a happy, handsome young Siberian that has no idea of proper behavior. His first instinct is to leap on the human facing him, a habit that simply needs training to eliminate. Young children who are apt to run around and scream get him overly-stimulated and would easily result in an injury because his instinct is to chase and knoick them down. Therefore, he will not be adopted to a home with children under 8-10 years of age. Teens able to cope with his boundless enthusiasm and give him a work-out to burn off the energy would be ideal. A formal obedience program is required with a minimum of eight weeks' training involved, possibly to be followed by a second session. Leland is a great boy but he's never been taught ANYTHING about behavior, and even though he isn't an overly-big male, those 52 lb. pack quite a punch when coming at you full force. He'll make the right home a wonderful addition...is that you?

I want to apply to adopt a dog now.

All dogs are:

  • spayed or neutered prior to adoption
  • evaluated for temperament and trainability
  • up to date on ALL shots, including Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • heartworm tested and on preventative year-round
  • micro-chipped for identification
