Comments:

Macaroon, or Rooney as he is called here, is a bundle of sweet energy.  He is everything this breed is known for-very curious, very active and very friendly to everyone he meets.  He was found as a stray so not a lot is known about him.  His coat was dirty but in good condition and he was already neutered so probably at some point he knew the love and care of a family.  But he has very little training.  He learned very quickly how to sit for his food, though.  He is very food motivated so he should learn all the basics quickly via an obedience class.

Rooney was beside himself meeting other dogs and asking to play.  He is friendly but he is very active when meeting other dogs so a home with a sedate senior is probably not the best fit.  He needs a buddy as active as he is to keep him busy.  That could come in the form of another dog or a human that likes to bike or run or skijor with him.  Once you expend some of his energy his sweet and engaging personality comes out.  He really is a nice boy!

I want to apply to adopt a dog now.

All dogs are:

  • spayed or neutered prior to adoption
  • evaluated for temperament and trainability
  • up to date on ALL shots, including Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • heartworm tested and on preventative year-round
  • micro-chipped for identification
