Comments:

Hi there, I'm Audrey.  My foster mom calls me Squirrel, she thinks I don't sit still, but really I'm just a puppy and have lots of energy to burn.  People say I'm super cute, they especially like my big ears - mom says that there's probably something else in my DNA besides Husky (whatever that means), but I like my ears.

I was 'owned' by someone, but I decided to go for a walk one day by myself and got lost.  I ended up in a shelter where they took good care of me, but it wasn't a home, and my owners never came to find me.  After a month my foster mom came and took me to her house.  I am much happier in a home, I need people around me all the time.  Wherever mom goes in the house, I go.  Some call that separation anxiety - I just call it getting all the love I can.

My two foster brothers thought they ruled the roost until I came along.  Now mom is all mine - if they're getting skritched, I'm there in an instant to push them aside - if they're chewing on a toy, I'll be there to take it from them.  Foster mom says that's cuz I'm 'Alpha' but I try telling her I'm just Audrey and she's mine, the toys are mine - everything is mine!!!

My favorite things to do are play with my brothers - chasing them around the yard and tackling them is fun!  I also love to cuddle.  My mom lets me cuddle with her on the couch - one of the pictures is of me sleeping in her lap.  If my foster brothers try to get in on the cuddle action I let them know it's MY time!

Oh, and I play fetch!  Mom keeps telling me that's not husky-like, but I love my tennis ball - so who caes what she thinks!

Mom is trying to teach me some manners.  She makes me sit and wait when she gives me food - sitting I'm good at, waiting....not so much, but I'm trying!  I do sit and wait until she tells me it's ok to go outside, and I run in to my kennel when she tells me (of course what she doesn't know is I've trained her to give me a treat each time).

When mom gets home I want to tell her all about my day - LOUDLY, just to make sure she hears me.  After I have told her my stories, I quiet down and just hang out.

Anyway, mom asked me to write this story about me - she hopes I will find a forever home.  I would like one with another dog, but no other girls I think I like boys better.  If I am an only dog that's just fine too, more people time for me!  I haven't been around a lot of kids, but the ones I met were ok - I might get jealous if they want attention from my new parents though.

Well, that's all I can tell you for now.  I would love to meet you and find a place to call home forever.  See you soon?

I want to apply to adopt a dog now.

All dogs are:

  • spayed or neutered prior to adoption
  • evaluated for temperament and trainability
  • up to date on ALL shots, including Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • heartworm tested and on preventative year-round
  • micro-chipped for identification
