Comments: Chi-Chi is a beautiful young girl who’s a very rough start in life.  She suffers from juvenile cataracts and has vision loss in both eyes.  She is able to see but we aren’t sure how well.  She was examined by a veterinary ophthalmologist who told us that her vision loss isn’t likely to worsen, but, there is a chance that she could eventually be blind.

Poor Chi-Chi was also badly abused by her previous owner and as a result has shown fear and aggression towards men.

Chi-Chi has spent the past 3 months with a professional dog trainer who has worked with her on her fears and aggression.  She has shown remarkable improvement and is now able to interact with men and women in a non-aggressive manner.

Despite her horrible past and her vision loss, Chi-Chi is a very sweet dog who loves to cuddle and play.  She is very high energy and can leap at least 6 ft straight up in the air.  She gets along well with other dogs to a point.  Chi-Chi likes to be in charge and will try to boss the other dogs around.

Because of her past behavioral problems, Chi Chi will need to be placed in a dog savvy home with no children.  And, due to her energy level and jumping skills, she’ll need a 6 ft fence to contain her.

I want to apply to adopt a dog now.

All dogs are:

  • spayed or neutered prior to adoption
  • evaluated for temperament and trainability
  • up to date on ALL shots, including Bordetella (kennel cough)
  • heartworm tested and on preventative year-round
  • micro-chipped for identification
