All of us at Adopt A Husky, Inc. are looking forward to the heartfelt story and entertainment value of Disney's upcoming movie - Eight Below. We are also, however, very concerned about the potential damage it could cause.
The release of Disney's 101 Dalmatians was followed by the surrender and destruction of thousands of unfortunate dogs by owners that thought they wanted that cute and cuddly spotted puppy but were not ready for the commitment that they were making. Public awareness and education diminished that problem when 102 Dalmatians was released.
All of us at Adopt A Husky, Inc. hope that we can assist in that education process so that the same horrible fate will not come to the Siberian breed after this movie is released.
The Siberian is a wonderful family pet, but it is not the right breed for every family. If you are considering getting a Siberian, please make sure you do your homework and research the breed. You owe it to your family and your future dog to make an educated decision. Some valuable links are listed below to help you out.
If you have any questions or would like further information, please write to us at adoptahusky@adoptahusky.com.
